| Preview
Zwolle-Ajax |
08
Mar 2003
|
Second
to top Ajax travel up north tomorrow for their match against second to
bottom Zwolle. Peter Boeve is faced with having to miss eight players
including striker Richard Roelofsen (knee injury), key defender Kras (on
hire from Ajax) who picked up his fourth yellow card last week and
first-choice goalkeeper Johan van der Werff who is suffering from a hip
disorder. Ajax's also have their own injury problems and with Andy
van der Meyde sitting out a four match ban the club are faced with
having two strikers, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nourdin Boukhari. However
Ajax's midfielders have already shown that they canbe just as productive
as their strikers and with the return of Rafael van der Vaart Zwolle's
hopes of earning a point are remote.
With Ajax's Champions League match against Valencia next week Ajax will
probably try to force an early two or three goal lead advantage and then
use the rest of the match for up-front experiments. |

players. Van Vliet said: "Players who are unhappy can give back their
contracts. The interest of FC Zwolle must clearly come first. The trainer
will not be sent away." |

chances to increase the score but failed, allowing Richard Roelofsen to curl
in a late freekick equalizer for the home team.

| Feyenoord
beat Zwolle 2-0 |
09 Nov 2002
|
|
Feyenoord
lineup: Lodewijks - Gyan, van Wonderen, Paauwe, Rzasa - Song C G, Emerton, Ono
- Buffel, Kalou, Lurling.
Zwolle
lineup:
van der Werff - Kras, R. Roelofsen, Ravensbergen, van der Haar - de
Ridder, Schol, Schops - Bosschaart, Promes, Lim-Duan. A
lacklustre Feyenoord took their time getting into gear against Zwolle and it
took a dubious penalty for them to finally go into the lead after 65 minutes when
'Japanese Wizard' Shinji Ono put away the spot-shot. Substitute Mariano Bombarda
made it 2-0 only minutes later, effectively ending Zwolle's resistance. The visitors
had been able to hold their own against the Rotterdammers during
theng half and Marino Promes, in particular, was a regular threat for
the Feyenoord defence. After the break trainer Bert van Marwijk brought on Robin van Persie
for Christian Gyan and
Bombarda for the injured Bonaventure Kalou with the desired effect.

| Zwolle
thrash AZ 5-1 |
01 Nov 2002
|
|
Zwolle
lineup: Van der Werff - Kras, Van der
Haar, Ravensbergen, Roelofsen - Bosschaart, De Ridder, Schol, Schops -
Lim-Duan, Promes.
AZ
lineup: Moens- De Cler, Lindenbergh, Tobiasen, Fortes Rodriquez - Van Galen,
Opdam, Meerdink, Robbemond - Nelisse, Perez.
AZ were given a good thrashing
by Zwolle tonight with a hat-trick for Marino Promes, lets hope that things
pick up soon once Co Adriaanse is firmly installed because it's clear that's
there's something seriously wrong with the team. Whatever happened to
that great little goal-getter that man Ali Elkhattabi? Maarten Schopsd
the score in the 1st minute before Promes added a 2nd ten minutes later and
a 3rd in the 29th. Arjan Bosschaart took the score to 4-0 and Marino
Promes bagged his 3rd on the stroke of halftime to complete the rout.
Kenneth Perez's 53rd minute consolation goal 'inspired' caretaker
trainers Martin Haar and Luc Nijholt to bring on Elkhattabi for Barry van
Galen but it failed to soften the blow of this defeat.

| Zwolle
miss Doesburg |
31
Oct 2002
|
| Zwolle
will miss right-back Michel Doesburg for a while after the 34 year-old
picked up a knee injury in the Ere Divisie defeat by NAC (3-0) on October
20th. Robert-Jan Ravensbergen or Robert Wijnands will replace him for the
coming home match against AZ on November 1st. |
| Kåre
Becker leaves Zwolle |
25 Oct 2002
|
|
Zwolle forward Kåre Becker is
leaving the club, effective immediately, after a conflict led to a mutual
decision to terminate the 24 year-old's contract. Becker joined the club
last season and his current deal was going to run out at the end of this
season anyway. He began his career with Twente but finally broke through
with Heracles Almelo where he played 24 matches in the 2000/2001 season. His
fine performances for them led to the offer from Zwolle where, although he
played 18 matches for them last season he's become sidelined under new
trainer Peter Boeve (partly through injury).

| Zwolle
lose to
NAC 0-3 |
20 Oct 2002
|
|
Zwolle
lineup: Van der Werff - Doesburg, Schol,
Kras, van der Haar - M. Roelofsen, Cvetkov, De Ridder - Bosschaart, R.
Roelofsen, Lim-Duan.
NAC
lineup: Babos - Colin, Penders, Mensah, Gudelj - Fehér, Schreuder, Engelaar
- Stewart, Boussaboun, Bobson.
Henk ten Cate's team have made a fine start to
the season with a string of solid looking performances and after this result
remain unbeaten in 8 matches. NAC's convincing 0-3 away win at Zwolle boosts
them into 5th place. They controlled the match in the Oosterenk Stadium and
Zwolle-trainer Peter Boeve's defensive lineup proved to be the wrong choice
of tactic. Orlando Engelaard the score in the 23rd minute, his 5th of
the season, Csaba Fehér adding a 2nd in the 34th. Zwolle only once
bothered goalie Gábor Babos and that was when the match was already well
advanced with NAC 3-0 up after defender Rob Penders had headed in the 3rd in
the 49th. NAC are now one of a select group of 3 unbeaten teams, the others
being Ajax and PSV. This was coincidentally Earnest Stewart's 350th Ere
Divisie match. The United States international, made his Ere Divisie debut
on September 25th 1988 for VVV and played a total of 27 for them before
making 171 appearances for Willem II and 152 so far for NAC.

wants to leave Zwolle |
13 Oct 2002
|
|
Robert Wijnands wants to leave Zwolle as soon as
possible! the defender's spent much of his time on the bench since the
arrival of new trainer Peter Boeve. The 30 year-old has told the club
management that the breakpoint came when he was not used in the match
against Willem II. " When he (Peter Boeve) substituted Michel Doesburg
with Robert-Jan Ravensbergen I knew tha I was no longer even 2nd choice for
right-back but had dropped to 3rd!"

04 Oct 2002 |

Zwolle
lineup: Van der Werff - Doesburg, Schol, Kras, Van der Haar - M. Roelofsen,
Bosschaart, De Ridder - Promes, R. Roelofsen.
Zwolle have had a surprise 2-0 away win at RKC
Waalwijk to take them into 11th place while RKC look to have have lost their
way after their 2nd home defeat in a row. The Waalwijkers got off to a more
than solid start this season, losing only to PSV and with just the one draw
against Vitesse. Their prospects were two, on paper, relatively simple home
games ahead of them against Excelsior and Zwolle but trainer Martin Jol's
crew have failed both tests, losing 0-3 to Excelsior last week and now 0-2
to Zwolle. Peter Boeve's team went ahead in the 11th minute with an Arjan
Bosschaart goal and Albert van der Haar put away the 0-2 in the 29th. Late
in the match frustrations got the better of RKC's Eddy Putter who saw
red and was sent off. |

Bommel, Vogel, Leandro - Bruggink, Kezman.
PSC won 1-3 at Zwolle tonight thanks to two

firing on all cylinders. The two he put away tonight take his
season's tally to 7. The Yugoslavian strikerd the score in the
10th minute but PSV, not wanting to exert themselves too much with the
coming C-L match against Arsenal ahead of them, allowed the home team to get
back into the match. Marino Promes gave the visitors some hope with an equalizer
in the 52nd but Kezman's 2nd in the 65th and a 3rd in the 85th by substitute
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink took the final score to 1-3. PSV are now on a run
of 17 unbeaten matches, the last time they lost being the 2-1 defeat by RKC
Waalwijk in the Mandemakers stadium back in February.

Vitesse
lineup: Jevric - Cornelisse, Stefanovic, Dingsdag, Fränkel - Levchenko,

Divisie-land. They remain, however, undefeated after 3 matches and caused a
surprise upset tonight by defeating Vitesse 1-0 in the Oosterenk stadium.
Richard Roelofsen, who'd worn the Arnhemmers' colours between 1991 and 1993,
scored the only goal of the match for Peter Boeve's team with a distance
shot in the 57th minute. His namesake, and teammate, Marco Roelofsen also
had reason to celebrate as it was his 450th professional appearance. Roelofsen's
goal gave Zwolle their first win of the season while Vitesse's Dejan Stefanovic departed for an early shower in the last minute
of official time after picking up his second yellow card of the match.

| Zwolle
hope to sign new striker |
29 Aug 2002
|
|
Zwolle are hoping to still sign a new striker
before the transfer deadline on August 31st. According to the club's site
they are considering 3 strikers: Erik Tammer, Boudewijn Pahlplatz and
Erik Regtop. Tammer has been looking for a new club for the past year and
was a member of the ADO Den Haag squad in the 2000/2001 season. The 33
year-old has scored 153 goals in 322 matches for AZ, Excelsior, Heerenveen,
Go Ahead Eagles, Sparta, Cambuur Leeuwarden and ADO Den Haag. 30 year-old
Pahlplatz has been without a club since last season after being sidetracked
at Twente. The 'Tukker' has played a total of 199 matches during his time
with Twente, PSV, Heerenveen and a spell back at Twente. 34 year-old Regtop
has played for Ajax, Telstar, Groningen, Heerenveen, Bradford City, FC
St.Gallen, OGC Nice, Austria Lustenau and SW Bregenz. He failed to get a new
deal with the last club and is currently playing for Austrian 3rd division
side Altach.

It looked like being the Zwollenaars' first Ere Divisie win since 1989 until
Said Boutahar rudely awoke them from that cosy dream with a last minute
goal.

Karlsen, so the
coach must be a happy man!

Danish 23 year-old Morten Karlsen will be
playing for newly promoted Zwolle for the coming two seasons. He's made a
big impresseion during his trial with trainer Peter Boeve's squad and is
capable of playing in different positions. The former youth international,
who's been with Cagen's B93 since1985 and was one of their most
reliable players last season, is a physically strong and fierce midfielder.

11 July 2002

Newly promoted Zwolle have offered Danish
midfielder Morten Olsen a trial. The 23 year-old was playing for B93 but
is now transfer-free and was on trial with another Danish club AB.
However, they look to be having trouble sorting out the necessary cash to
seal a deal and he could make enough of an impression on Paul Krabbe's
successor Peter Boeve to earn himself
a contract in Holland.

PSV

Zwolle
lineup: Van der Werff - Doesburg, R. Roelofsen, Kras, Schol - Promes, M.

Vitesse
lineup: Jevric - Cornelisse, Stefanovic, Dingsdag, Fränkel - Levchenko,

The 'experts' had written Zwolle off before the
season had even kicked-off and given them no chance of surviving in Ere

Zwolle have threatened to leave the town of Zwolle if the local municipal
council refuse to speed up a decision on whether or not to give
permission for the construction of a new stadium. With their recent
promotion to the Ere Divisie in mind the club want to push ahead with
their plans for new accomodation. Although there have been plans for the
last 6 years to build a new stadium, last week the council 'suddenly'
began to have doubts concerning the location itself and the investment of

Jong looks like the most likely candidate to become Zwolle's new coach,
succeeding Paul Krabbe who recently and surprisingly handed in his
resignation. Zwolle have also reportedly spoken to Wim Rijsbergen about
the job but the former international has turned down the offer. De Jong,
who was Go Ahead Eagles last season, would be prepared to take a
considerable drop in salary to help the financially weak Zwolle make
a success of their Ere Divisie adventure next season. Zwolle supposedly
have a list of candidates including Riijsbergen, De Jong Hans Westerhof
and Martin Koopman but the club will only name names when they have
started talking to a serious candidate.
