VVV hire Vitesse goalie and PSV defender

Eesrtedivisie outfit VVV have contracted Vitesse goalkeeper Bas Wijnen and PSV defender Dirk van Osch. According to Dutch provincial Radio/TV staion 'Omroep Gelderland' , 22-year-old Wijnen is no longer wanted at Vitesse and can spend the last year that he has remaining on his contract with VVV, after which he may look for a new club. Wijnen spent last year on hire with Eerstedivisie side Go Ahead Eagles.
PSV's 20-year-old defender Van Osch, who has been loaned out to improve his skills,  is no stranger at VVV having spent a considerable time in their  youth academy. 
VVV sign RKC's John van Loenhout

Eerstedivisie side VVV have signed RKC's out of favour John van Loenhout for one season with an option for one more year. The 26-year-old midfielder who has played 183 Eredivisie matches, has been yoyo-ing between RBC and RKC since 1996.
VVV sign Roda's Bas Jacobs

Roda JC striker Bas Jacobs has signed a two year deal with Eerstedivisie side VVV. The 23-year-old player has been on hire with VVV for the past season and has scored 16 goals this season for the Venlo's outfit.
VVV-Den Haag switched to Den Haag-VVV

Favourites for promotion Den Haag have seen the Dutch FA (KNVB) switch this Friday's away match against VVV into a home match after Venlo's local mayor refused permission for the match to take place for a second time. Dutch FA rules stipulate that if local authorities disallow a home match to take place twice in succession then the game will be switched into an away match. VVV's stadium is still under construction and the Mayor fear for the crowds safety. The switch gives Den Haag the chance to be crowned on their own home ground.
VVV sign Utrecht's Arno Arts

Eerste Divisie club VVV have contracted Utrecht's 33 year old midfielder Arno Arts for the next two seasons.  VVV tried to contract the player during the January transfer window but were unable to seal the deal in time. Ere Divisie side Utrecht, who are in financial difficulties (who not) are planning to disperse of six first team squad members, including Arts, to help alleviate their budget.

Ex-PSV-er Stinga refused work permit

The Dutch ministry for social services has refused to issue Ex-PSV midfielder Ovidiu Stinga with a work permit which means that he will be unable to play for Eerste Divisie side, VVV.  After leaving PSV in 2001, the Rumanian international played for a short time in his home country for Dinamo Boekarest and according to the midfielder he commuted weekly from Holland to Rumania. The Dutch authorities however do not believe this to be true and suspect that the player lived in Rumania during his period with Dinamo, which, according to Dutch laws, would mean that his original work-permit is now no longer valid. Stinga is now contemplating signing for Dutch amateur side, Braakhu.
VVV test Van Galen & lend Begois-Leemans

Eerste Divisie club VVV who are currently in trainings camp in Turkey are to test KV Mechelen forward, Martijn van Galen. Because KV Mechelen are currently unable to pay their players wages the 33 year old Dutch striker may leave transfer-free.
Roda JC who recently signed Belgian talents Kevin Begois and Ken Leemans are intending stall them at VVV until the end of the season.
Willem II's Marcel Meeuwis has surgery

Willem II midfielder Marcel Meeuwis who is currently on loan to Eerste Divisie club VVV, has undergone surgery to repair a damaged achilles-tendon. It's expected that Meeuwis will be out of action for at least two months. Meeuwis is currently top of  VVV's  Man of the match award.

Den Haag beat VVV 5-1

Den Haag won their 6th game in a row tonight, this time VVV were on the losing end. After somehow managing to keep the home side from scoring for the 1st half hour, VVV found themselves trailing 1-0 after Den Haag's top scorer Roy Stroeve netted his 8th goal of the season. 2 minutes before the break Arjan van der Laan made it 2-0. In the second half Den Haag took a 5-0 lead via goals from Hofsted (63), Castelen (68) and Cales (86). In the 88th minute, VVV's Marcel Meeuwis finally netted a consolation goal for the visitors.

VVV lost at home this evening after Wasiu Taiwo had put the visitors ahead in the 26th minute of the 1st half. 5 minutes before the break Taiwo should have made it 0-2 after MVV were awarded a penalty but his spot-shot sailed wide.
Amstel Cup Roundup

AGOVV beat VVV
Amateur side AGOVV caused an Amstel Cup upset tonight by beating Eerste Divisie VVV. 1st half goals by Monteiro, (44th) and Geebelen (45th) looked to be taking the match into extra-time before Juliana scored in injury-time. AGOVV go on to play Feyenoord in the next round. 
Eindhoven lose to VVV 0-2

Christophe Geebelen put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute of the match. After JohnLaponder failed to equalize via a spot shot in the 62nd, Bas Jacobs made 0-2, ten minutes later.
VVV lose to Dordrecht

VVV Venlo were treated to 1-2 home defeat this evening by bottom of the table Dordrecht. After Bas Jacobs had put the home side ahead in the 25th minute, the visitors drew level 7 minutes later via Marco Boogers and in the 61st they even found themselves leading after Leon van Dalen scored, giving them their 1st win of the season.

Sparta beat VVV

Sparta beat VVV 4-2 thanks to a hattrick by Rickey van der Bergh after getting off to a poor start. The Limburgers went ahead after only 4 minutes and the Rotterdammers looked to be heading for a massacre but Van den Bergh's 2nd half flurry of goals in the 61st, 64th and 84th made sure the points stayed at 'Het Kasteel'. 
VVV beat Haarlem 3-0

A rather poor display by Haarlem handed VVV a comfortable win. Marcel Meeuwis scored the one and only 1st half goal in the 28th minute.  Bas Jacob added a 2nd in the 66th and Bernhard Hofstede a 3rd in the 77th for VVV's 2nd win of the season.
Veendam beat VVV 3-2

Veendam narrowly beat VVV this evening 3-2 in a entertaining match. Lesmond Prinsend for Veendam in the 9th, Christophe Geebelen pulled one back in the 16th. Paul Weerman put the 2-1 and the 3-1 on the board with his 5th and 6th goal of the season, bringing him into joint 3rd position on the Eerste Divisie top scorers list. Bas Jacob put the final 3-2 score on board in the 66th minute.

After 7 matches Go Ahead Eagles are in touch with the top of the table clubs and came away with 3 points from their visit to VVV. Two Bram Marbus goals late in the first half gave the visitors a healthy lead and, on the hour, Ugur Yilderim made it 0-3.

VVV beat Eindhoven in Cup

VVV have earned themselves a place in the 2nd round of the Amstel Cup after a 1-0 win last night against Eindhoven, Roy Grotaeert scoring the matchwinner after half an hour. The match was proceeded by a minute's silence out of respect for Prince Claus who died a few days ago. Roy Grotaeert scored the matchwinner after half an hour.
Volendam beat VVV 4-2

After losing their first two games of the season Volendam haven't have lost since and are now 5 games without defeat. This evening VVV were the unhappy losers after a 4 - 2 defeat. Volendam took what looked to be a comfortable 3 - 0 lead with 2 goals by Esajas (11th and 72nd) and 1 goal by Ouhsaine in the 28th minute of the game. 12 minutes before the final whsitle VVV pulled one back via Meeuwis and then 3 minutes later Mbemba increased the excitement-level of the match when he reduced Volendam's lead to just 1 goal. However, Volendam managed to hold onto their lead and with a few minutes left on the clock Maurice Buys put the result beyond doubt and the 4-2 on the board. 

VVV beat Helmond Sport 3-2

VVV and Helmond Sport put on an entertaining match for the fans in the Koel stadium. Rob Zegers and Christophe gave the home team a 2-0 lead, Ivar van Dinteren and Erik Stock drew the visitors level before Bas Jacobs out away the 3-2.

VVV extend Dusseldorp's deal

VVV may still be waiting for their first win but the club are apparently still happy with trainer Wim Dusseldorp, who joined in 2001, as both parties have signed an extension of his contract which should keep him in Venlo till 2004 . 'The new deal should be seen as a sign of faith on the part of the club towards both players and trainer".

Emmen beat VVV 2-0

Emmen stay top of the table after winning their 5th match in a row against VVV 2-0. Topscorer Donny de Grootd the score in the 23th minute with his 6th of the season and Marcio Junqueira put away the 2nd after the break.

VVV and Top Oss draw 1-1

After a poor match against Go Ahead Eagles the week before VVV were determined to snatch the points at home to Oss. They were certainly sharper at the start and Henk Hofstede put them ahead after only 3 minutes. The home team continued to have the better of the chances in theng half while TOP Oss were impotent to do anything about the deficit. Trainer Harry van der Haam brought on Sako for Dennis van den Berg after the break and the change finally added some sparkle to the Ossers and Marinus Dijkhuizen headed in the equalizer in the 53rd. 

Cambuur beat VVV 4 - 1

Cambuur made amends for last week's defeat at Haarlem with a convincing 4 - 1 win against VVV.  Jan Bruin scored a first half hattrick with goals in the 9th, 17th and  22nd minute.  Bas Jacobs pulled one back for VVV in the 16th minute. Cambuur defender Tied Heldens put the final score on the board in the 78th minute. VVV remain bottom of the table,so far having lost all of their games this season.

Pascal Averdijk got off to a fine start at his new club with two goals in the 42nd and 51st minutes to give them the points in tonight's match. VVV's Marc Eberlé was sent off in the 58th minute when he received his 2nd yellow card.
VVV sign Ben Mbemba

VVV have signed Congo striker Ben Mbemba from Anderlecht on a two-year contract. The 20 year-old, who had an unsuccessful trial earlier this year at De Graafschap, looks set to make his first appearance for trainer Wim Dusseldorp's side in tonight's Amstel Cup match against Fortuna Sittard.
KNVB tell VVV they can sack Boy Seijkens

The Dutch FA (KNVB) have told VVV they can sack their 20 year-old midfielder Boy Seijkens who had a contract till 2004. The FA's arbitration committee decided that Seijkens should receive 5 months salary by way of compensation for the sacking which is the result of repeated alcohol abuse, something the player has continually denied.
New VVV deal for top scorer Hofstede

VVV have offered top-scorer Bernard Hofstede a new contract which will run till the summer of  2006. The 21 year-old striker has put away 27 goals in 83 matches for the Eerste Divisie side and was the club's top-scorer last season with 20 to his name.
VVV trial for Belgian player

VVV have offered the Belgian forward Christophe Geebelen a trial till July 20th in which he can try to earn himself a contract with Wim Dusseldorp's team. The 24 year-old comes from KV Mechelen but last season  was on loan to Belgian Second Divison side Verbroedering Geel. He joined Mechelen from rivals Maasland Mechelen in 2000 and has the chance to play in one, or all four, friendlies that VVV have planned for the coming two weeks.
