 Preview Volendam - RBC

27 Sep 2003

RBC, who are usually to be found hovering around the relegation zone, travel off to newly promoted outfit Volendam with the same side that has managed to earn seven points from the last three matches. Although RBC won their last two away matches to Den Haag and Roda, coach Maaskant has warned his players not to let these two away wins go to their heads. Maaskant: "Although Volendam are one of the teams we must beat we must not underestimate them. Our fans seem to be doing that but that's not wise."
Despite good play, Volendam have lost their previous three games and although Volendam won their last confrontation against RBC two years ago,  coach Henk Wisman has warned his team not to be complacent. Wisman: "They now have a different team, with much more experience. They have two experienced defenders with ex-Leeds player Robert Molenaar and former Ajax player Danny Hesp. We don't have that kind of experience in our team. They also have a good striker with Pius Ikedia, who scores easily."
