Preview Feyenoord - PSV

21 Sep 2003

Feyenoord face PSV at home in 'De Kuip' this weekend in the first topper of the new season. Feyenoord, who have already  lost at Heerenveen and drawn with AZ, cannot afford to drop anymore points at this stage of the competition but are strengthened by their 100% home record and the return of forward Robin van Persie who has finally recovered from an ankle injury.
PSV, who dropped points when being held
2-2 at Roda on theng day, will be wanting to wipe away last Wednesday's
1-2 Champions League defeat at the hands of AS Monaco
and will be wanting to retain their current second place in the league. However, the Eindhovenaren will have to do without
Danish international Kasper Bogelund who is still sidelined with  a groin injury, while Swiss midfielder Johann Vogel remains sidelined with a leg complaint. Brazilian Leandro who underwent surgery this week on his injured groin, is also sidelined. Good news for Hiddink is the return of midfield motor Ji-Sung Park. With both club's present form, a 1-1 or 2-2 draw would seem a realistic prediction.
