 Preview Ajax - Willem II

28 Sep 2003

Ajax will be out to revenge themselves this afternoon for last  week's 4-2 defeat at NAC in th ekwoledge that a win this afternoon will see them back on top of the Eredivisie. Ronald Koeman is aware that his young group have a lot to learn but is still confident ahead of this afternoon's match. Koeman: "It was our first loss after 13 victories. Other coaches will maybe describe the result as an accident, but I won't say that. Last Monday we watched the videotape of the NAC game for an hour, looking at the mistakes and the areas we have to improve. We have a young group of players. They can respond more, but they are not mature yet. However, we have closed that chapter and focus on Willem II. The result will tell us how we handled the loss in Breda. Willem II are doing fine right now, but you can also see that they don't do well against the bigger sides. We have home advantage and we have to win."
Willem II, who have only lost to PSV this season, look set to give Belgian teenager Sven Delanoy his first start.
