No remorse Bergkamp for United fiasco |

Mr nice guy Dennis
Bergkamp who was substitued in Arsenal's tumultuous game against Ruud van
Nistelrooy's Manchester United in which the Dutch international striker was
jeered and belittled by Arsenal players when missing a last minute penalty.
Bergkamp said: "It was a big test and I believe we passed that
test. We took a lot of positive things from the game as I think we showed that
our confidence hadn't been dented by the Inter Milan defeat.
Unfortunately most of the focus has been on events that happened towards
the end of the game and after the match. The media attention on all of this has
been quite unbelievable." Speaking on his own website
on icons.com Bergkamp added:
"For me, this was a high tension game, as it is always is when we play against
United. There was a lot of emotion both on and off
the pitch. Here you have two sides who have been fighting for the title for
many seasons now and the significance of this game is always high.
But the game is finished now and we are very happy to have come away
with a point. Now we must leave it alone and move on. We are looking forwards
now, not backwards." |
