Melchiot says Mutu is Chelsea's best signing |

Dutch international defender Mario Melchiot
believes that Chelsea's summer signing Adrian Mutu is
the best buy that the London outfit did last summer saying:
"All of the players Chelsea have signed this season are very good
footballers, but for me Adrian has had the most special start. He looks such a
clever player. I knew of Adrian from his time in Italy with Parma, where he was
definitely one of the best players in Serie A, so I'm not surprised at his
quality. Adrian is only young but on the pitch he acts like a man. He isn't scared
of anything and he fights hard too, so I think he's a good signing!"
Melchiot also glad that new player Crespo was on target on
Saturday saying: "It was good for Chelsea that Hernan Crespo scored on
Saturday. When a new player joins a club it doesn't matter how famous or how
talented you are, you still have to prove yourself to the fans - and I think
Hernan showed everybody what he can do at the weekend. Hernan's job is to score goals and he's done it straight away for his new
team, which is great for him. He'll be very pleased to have got off the mark so
early and I think it will help his confidence a lot.
With so many new players coming to Chelsea at once, the dressing room seems
so much different from last season. The spirit is still quite good but I think high team morale comes
automatically when the team is winning. We're doing that at the moment and
let's hope we keep it going." |
