Lokhoff dumbfounded with Newcastle defeat |

NAC trainer Tom Lokhoff has stated that he is completely
dumbfounded after his team were
belittled 5-0 by Newcastle United in the Uefa Cup.
The Dutchman was convinced that his outfit would be
able to hold their stand against the Premier League outfit and his team flew
off to Tyneside with great confidence after their 4-2 home win against Ajax in
the Dutch competition just a few day before. Lokhoff: "We knew that it could become a hot evening here but I had never expected this heavy defeat.
Too many players played below their level, compared to Sunday against Ajax when they played above their level. That was the big difference.
And where does that lie? That is a big question, I feel tarnished by the way we played. Until the first goal, I still had hopes. We started to play a little bit of football, then we conceded the goal.
At that point both Penders and Schenning went to Shearer and as a result Bellamy came through (to score). It is only one example of the many things which went wrong this evening.
It is, and remains, football. These type of things happen."
