Chivu nearly returned to Ajax |

Former Ajax skipper Cristian Chivu has
stated in an interview that he nearly returned to
Ajax after financial problems threatened to hinder
his transfer to Roma.
Chivu "The problem annoyed me, because after more than a month I
already felt like a Roma player. Many people advised me to cut my losses and return to Ajax, but I decided
not to. My decision was based on not wanting to show a lack of respect to the
coach and my team-mates. I feel very good in this team, there is a team spirit that I have never
seen before. On Sunday I played my first match and scored as well. Obviously I'm
delighted about this. Roma are the strongest side I have played with - there are so many good
players."
