30 Sep
2003 |
Dutch international striker Jerrel Hasselbaink's point
sealing goals have not gone unnoticed by Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri
who now says that he is
delighted Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wasn't sold during the
summer sales.
Hasselbaink was linked this summer with Spanish top clubs
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but the out of favour
striker decided to stay and fight for a first team place at Stamford
Bridge. Ranieri said: "Jimmy is playing the best he
has ever done since I came here. He is strong and wants to fight. Jimmy is
staying and I like that." |
