Júbilo Iwata sack goalkeeper Van Zwam

Japanese outfit Júbilo Iwata
have informed Dutch goalkeeper Arno van Zwam that
he no longer fits into the club's plans. Although the 33-year-old still has
10 months remaining on his contract, his dismissal is effective as of today.
According to the Dutch media,
Júbilo Iwata
and Zwam were unable to agree on the finances of a new
contract and both parties were conflict concerning the amount of playing-time Zwam
has played for the club. Van Zwam
is second keeper behind first choice Toshiyasu Takahara,
However Takahara, who earns more
than Van Zwam, has not performed well and the club have continually fielded
the lower-paid Dutchman. Although Van Zwam attracted the attention of
De Graafschap and UEFA Cup qualifiers NAC during the summer, it's more than
likely that he will remain in the Far East where he has been targeted by
several Japanese outfits. |
