John de Wolf angry with Sparta

02 Jul 2003

Sparta's  assistant trainer John de Wolf has vented his anger and disbelief at the club's announcement to appoint ex- Vitesse trainer Mike Snoei as the club's the new head coach.  In an interview in the daily newspaper the 'Rotterdam Dagblad'  the ex-Feyenoord star stated that he is so disgusted with the whole affair that he would never put another foot in the Sparta stadium again. De Wolf feels that he has been betrayed by Sparta saying:
"I feel fooled. Under this board and management I will never set one foot in the Sparta stadium again,"
De Wolf became Dekker's assistant at Sparta after the winter break and was given to understand that Dekker was Sparta's main candidate to become their full-time coach this season. However, now that Snoei will be taking over at Vitesse, De Wolf will now have to make room for Nico Jalink who has been named by Snoei as his new assistant.
