Dutch international winger Andy van der Meyde says
he wants to return to Ajax as soon as possible and says that he is prepared to
accept a considerable drop in wages to be able to return to the Amsterdam
outfit and end his unsuccessful foreign adventure with Inter Milan.
In the Dutch international weekly football magazine 'Voetbal International' Van der
Meyde says he is unhappy in Italy where he is seldom given a chance to display his
prolific skills.
Van der Meyde: "I played a really good first half against Sochaux and
yet five minutes into the second act I get substituted. I'm completely
dumbfounded. I would definately be prepared to accept a drop in salary to be
able to return to Ajax. I now realize what I had in Holland. I would prefer to
play in the so called 'Mickey Mouse' competition than to sit on the bench in
Italy.
According to reports, Birmingham City are also showing interest in Van der
Meyde but the Dutch international says that he is not in a hurry totalks
with the ambitious Premier League outfit. Van der Meyde: If an
intersting club make enquiries then I will think about it. But that ever
happens, I have learnt from my Italian adventure"
