| Conflicting
reports surrounding Jaap Stam |

There
are conflicting reports in the media surrounding Dutch international
defender Jaap Stam. According to reports in the Italian media Stam has
agreed to stay with Lazio now that the club have finally found the
resources to pay the outstanding wages that the owe him.
However, the English daily newspaper 'The Sun' have reported that Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger is about make a swoop for the former Manchester United
star and are reported to complete the €10 million Euros deal within
the next 48 hours. According to 'The Sun' Arsenal have
already held talks with Stam.
The Gunners are desperate to strengthen their defense and Wenger is keen
to bring in a partner for Sol Campbell now that French defender
Pascal Cygan has failed to live up to the expectations following his move
from Lille last summer. |
