Divisie club MVV, who
were doubting if they would be able to pay their players wages this
month due to their financial crisis, have seen the
Dutch FA (KNVB) come to their assistance by advancing them money for TV
rights. Coach Ron Elsen cancelled training on Monday after the wages
announcement but was convinced that the board would find a solution to
the problem saying "As long as I've worked at MVV, and I've done that for 16 years,
I've always received my salary in time," MVV's general manager
Marcel Franssen added "Thirty families now have their money. That is a relief. But the
end of this month will show another fight," Captain John Mutsaers was
also relieved to hear the news saying "The worries are over for a while. But we wonder if the
club will have a filled cash register at the end of this month. The doubts in the squad are high. And this will take its toll
on the results too. Unrest is never good."
