starlet Sneijder signs till 2007 |

Ajax starlet Wesley Sneijder has signed a
new improved deal that will keep their protégé at the club until summer 2007.
The 18-year-old striker has made an enormous progression in his first year as a
professional footballer, gaining his first cap for the Dutch national teram
and attracting the attention of Italian giants Milan. Ajax technical
director Leo Beenhakker is delighted Sneijder has committed his future to the
club. "Wesley Sneijder is again
a great talent from our own youth programme. It's good for the club that we
could sign him on until 2007,"
"In the past there was the idea that Ajax was educating players for foreign
clubs, but in the changing of the market of today Ajax now succeeds in keeping
talents in Amsterdam. That is a very positive development."
