AZ have
told reserve keeper Arnold Nijkamp that he can start to look for a new
club as his contract will not be extended this summer. The 29 year-old was
brought to the "Alkmarderhout" from amateur side DWW by former
trainer Gerard van der Lem in 2000.
Meanwhile, Henk Timmer (who's been on loan to Feyenoord since Henk van
Stee gave Oscar Moens the job of 1st choice goalie) has been told to
report back for duty in Alkmaar. Although Feyenoord had an option to buy
him, the closing date of April 1st has been and gone without a deal being
signed between the two clubs. According to Timmer there is still a chance
that Feyenoord will be able to convince AZ to sell during the course of
this week, especially as he doesn't want to return to the club. We'll keep
you posted!!
