Stadium "De Goffert"
| NEC's home ground is "De
Goffert Stadion" in Nijmegen which seats 13,500. It's a hi-tech
but ecologically-friendly accomodation which is situated in a wooded
area on the outskirts of the city. All seats benefit from 'above-head'
heating - the energy being supplied by 30 solar panels. The rain water
used to flush the toilets and to water the pitch is supplied by four large
tanks situated in the four corners of the stadium. It's a welcoming and,
dare I say it, a cosy (or, for the benefit of our Dutch visitors,
"gezellig") and spacious stadium.
