De Graafschap took a surprise 3rd minute
lead in Amsterdam this afternoon after Hans van der Haar netted, however Ajax
came back to slaughter De Graafschap 7-1.
After v.d. Haar's shockr, Rafael v.d. Vaart demonstrated that he is
not only a brilliant midfielder but also a prolific striker when bagging a
first half brace to put 2-1 score-line on the board.
Van der Vaar leveled for Ajax in the 16th, blasting in a Maxwel cross from
10 meters and then increased the gap to one goal on the stroke of half time
after soloing through De Graafschap's defences and then shooting in
from just inside the box.
After the break De Graafschap were completely humiliated
but it took until the 63rd minute before Sneijder
was able to increase the score to 3-1, picking up an Abubakari
Yakubu cross to steer the ball in from 12 meters.
Galasek made it 4-1 after netting a spot-shot and in the 72nd minute of the
game South African talent Pienaar nodded in a Sikora cross from close
range for the 5-1. Just four minutes later Brazilian midfielder Maxwell scored a
sixth, blasting into the top corner of the net and with just one minute
remaining on the clock, Nordin Boukhari added insult to injury when rounding
off an Andy Van der Meyde cross ,
