After a period in the anonymity
following his Barcelona dismissal, Dutch coach Louis van Gaal's name
has emerged as one of the hot favorites to become German outfit Schalke 04's
next manager. Rumours had been circulating for the past few weeks that
Schalke 04 were targeting Van Gaal but the club had failed to confirm it's
interest. However the club has now confirmed that talks have begun.
Van Gaal also indirectly stated on Dutch TV last weekend that he would like
to take over the technical director's function at Ajax which
has become vacant after the unexpected resignation of Leo Beenhakker.
