trainer Jol asked to explain remarks |

Martin Jol has been asked by the Dutch FA's
prosecutor (KNVB) to explain his remarks in the Dutch Media
suggesting that the KNVB seemed more willing to show greater leniency
towards Ajax,Feyenoord and PSV than towards the smaller clubs in Holland. Jol
made his remarks after Pierre van Hooijdonk's 4 match ban for alleged bad
behavior in Feyenoord's somewhat turbulent Dutch FA Cup semi-final against Ajax
last month, was acquitted by the KNVB, allowing Van Hooijdonk to play
against Jol's RKC last weekend - whereas RKC
defender Peter van den Berg was unable to face Feyenoord in last week's defeat
in Rotterdam due to a wrongful suspension. Jol pointed that video evidence has
proven that Van der Berg was wrongfully banned and should therefore of been
allowed to face Feyenoord.
Jol: "Under pressure from the media the
committee adjusted the suspensions of three players, but they left the
suspension of the innocent Peter van den Berg unchanged," The
KNVB prosecutor has stated that he will first await Jol's reply before
deciding whether to take disciplinary action against the coach.
