| Numan
to leave Rangers this Summer |
18 Feb 2003 |
Arthur Numan looks set to make a return to PSV now that
talks aimed at extending the Dutch international defenders stay in
Scotland have broken down. Although Numan had agreed to accept a wage cut
and Rangers boss Alex McLeish was keen to hold onto him but Rangers financial
position has forced them to let the ex-PSVer go.
Numan revealed: "Everyone knows the situation at the club and I
was willing to take a pay cut but the gap between what the club offered and
what I wanted was too big so I have decided to leave in the summer. There
would be no better way of ending my time here than with a championship medal
- and maybe even more.
I know how much the
title means to everyone at Rangers and I would love to play a part in
bringing it back to Ibrox."
