Newly promoted Portsmouth have joined Birmingham
City in the chase for Dutch international striker, Pierre Van Hooijdonk.
Portsmouth are believed to have been eyeing the Feyenoord centre-forward for
some time, and reports in the English daily newpaper 'The Daily Star' have
stated that 'Pompey' chairman Milan Mandaric has given manager Harry
Redknapp the green light to sign six new players, with a centre-forward
highest on the shopping list.
