| Mokoena
uninterested in Ajax return |
09 May 2003 |
Ajax defender Aaron Mokoena, who has
been on loan to Belgian outfit Germinal Beerschot for the past three
seasons, has stated that he does not want to return to Amsterdam at the
end of this season. Ajax
trainer Ronald
Koeman personally watched Mokoena in action last month and was so
impressed with the South African that he wanted to give the defender
another chance. However Mokoena's agent Rob Moore has stated that there
are a number of British clubs interested in the player and that a return
to Ajax would seem highly unlikely.
Moore: "He has just one year left in
the summer, and we have a good understanding with Ajax, as they do not
want to risk losing him for nothing next year. Aaron will consider his
options, but I would say that a return to Ajax is highly unlikely. We know of a number of clubs
watching him, at the moment, we know of three in Britain and one in Germany.
We will study the offers when
they come in and take it from there."
