and Lazio close to Stam deal ? |

Although the transfer market has
closed until the Summer it hasn't stopped Juventus to continue their
hunt for Jaap Stam. According to the Italian daily newspaper the 'Gazetta
dello Sport' the two side are nearly in agreement over the
transfer sum with only one million euros separating the two clubs.
Juventus have apparently offered Lazio seven million euros plus one of
their players for the Dutch international. Both parties are to meet
next week to continue their talks. Stam's replay to all the commotion
surrounding the transfer rumors was "Of course I have read all the
stories and offers from Juventus and Lazio, the only thing is, nobody
has ever approached us. Both my family and I are extremely contented
here in Rome I would rather prefer to finish off my contract"
