Eredivisie strugglers Groningen have set
their sights on ex-Roda defender Regilio Vrede. The 30-year-old defender who
signed a one year deal with Greek side Iraklis Saloniki last year is transfer
free this summer. On Groningen's website the club's technical director Henk
Veldmaat stated that they had already held talks with Vrede and were
hoping to get him to pen a deal before other clubs became interested the 6ft 6in
center-back. Veldmaat also stated that he hoped to hear if Veded would be
playing in the 'Oosterpark' within a few days .
