price tag too high for Milanese |

It looks as if Ajax's Rumanian captain
Christian Chivu will not be moving to Italy this summer now that Italian giants Inter and AC Milan are cooling their interest.
Both clubs have been following Chivu
for the last year and have indeed held several meetings with Chivu's
agents. However it is now believed that both Milanese clubs have been
deterred from making a move for the player now that Ajax have insisted
that he may not leave the club for less €17 million Euros. Real Madrid and Arsenal are also
keen to sign Chivu and certainly Real have the wealth to afford the
player. However Ajax are now indicating they want to hold onto their
captain for next season.
