Vigo's president
Horacio Gomez has confirmed
that the club are to hire Ajax's Egyptian ace Mido for
the rest of the season. "Everything is practically done, though we want to know if we can negotiate a
purchase option for the end of this season." Although both transfer
markets are closed for international transfers, the Spanish club have
made use of a loophole. To bring the undeniably talented Egyptian to Celta, the club has cancelled the contract
of Argentine defender Sebastian Mendez, who is currently recovering from
a knee injury. The 20 year-old,
who was demoted to the reserves for the second time in short
succession as the result of his attitude problems, will be in Vigo on Sunday and should be available for
selection in time for next week's game against Atletico Madrid
