target Denneboom to replace Mido |

Heerenveen striker Romano Denneboom is
one of the main candidates to replace Ajax's 'Mido' who has been banished
to Ajax's reserve squad for the rest of the season. It is unclear if
Ajax are planning to buy Denneboom, with 8 goals Heerenveen's top
scorer, or to hire him for the rest of the season. After Ajax's 2-0 home win
over Vitesse technical director Leo Beenhakker stated on Dutch television
that he was less optimistic of the club's chances of obtaining a striker
this week . ' We can think up all sorts of possibilities but first of all we
will need the cooperation of the club in question. I don't think Heerenveen
will be overjoyed at the though of losing Denneboom in this crucial part of
the season. It's easier to talk about buying a striker than to actually do
it" Beenhakker also pointed out that if Ajax manage to find a striker
he will not be eligable to play in the Champions League.
