Latuheru signs for Al-Wahda?

15 July 2002

Bart Latuheru could be continuing his professional career with a move to Bahrein side Al-Wahda after he was told he wouldn't be getting a new deal with NEC. If the deal goes through the 36 year-old forward will be joining fellow Dutchmen Tiny Ruys and Danny Hoekman who are coaching the Gulf club. Latuheru originally wanted to play for a club closer to his home in Capelle aan den IJssel but couldn't resist the offer he's been made. Last month it looked as if the former international would sign for newly promoted Excelsior but the deal didn't go through. Latuheru has so far played 492 professional matches for Excelsior, Vitesse, AZ and NEC.
