Willem II hire Van der Gun

It's turned out not be Groningen but Willem II who've snapped up Ajax's Cedric van der Gun on a loan deal for the rest of the season. Only yesterday the 23 year-old forward was being linked with a move to the Oosterpark side but the Tilburgers, who were one of the clubs originally interested in adding him to their squad, have been able to reach agreement with him after earlier talks failed. In fact Willem II was Van der Gun's stated preferred destination when he started to look for new club after being told that he had no future in the 1st team squad at the Arena. It's his 2nd spell on loan away from Amsterdam after turning out at Den Bosch for a short while in the 1999/2000 season.
