Mido has announced that he is determined to leave
Ajax when the following transfer window comes round during the coming
winter-break. The temperamental Egyptian striker is annoyed at being dropped
by Ronald Koeman after being substituted during the match against Groningen
and has no intention of taking a seat on the bench while rival Zlatan
Ibrahimovich gets the deluxe striker's role in tomorrow's match against
Zwolle. Coach Ronald Koeman had this to say, "Zlatan deserves a chance
and with Litmanen in the team to stimulate and 'feed' him I hope that
everyone will get to see the Ibrahimovich we've been treated to in training!
Mido has not been playing well and his performance during this week's
training session has only confirmed my opinion." As soon as he heard
the news Mido made clear his desire to leave the ArenA a.s.a.p. The 19
year-old joined Ajax from Belgian side AA Gent in the summer of 2001 and has
so far scored 13 goals in 27 matches.
