| Litmanen
transfer runs into trouble |

Jari Litmanen's move to Ajax is apparently
against the current rules governing transfers. The Finnish international has
signed a contract for 4 months with the Amsterdammers with the proviso that
their would be discussions during the winter break in Holland for an extension of the deal for a possible
further 18 months. It now turns out that
any contract should have been for a minimum of one-year but fortunately for
Jari, and Ajax, he cannot be denied the right to play as both the Dutch FA
(KNVB) and UEFA have already given their blessing to the deal which has been
signed! Litmanen will have his first training session on Monday
at the ArenA and is still trying to get used to the idea that he's 'back
home'! He'll make his first appearance for Ajax after Finland's match
against Wales this weekend.
