Roda have contracted Yugoslavian defender Predrag
Filipovic today after earlier deciding that he was too expensive for them.
The Kerkrade side's technical director Nol Hendriks' football-loving heart
won this particular battle of the bank-balance and he has decided to sign
the left-back after all. Vincent Lachambre's injury has left the 'Kerkrade
Crew' vulnerable in defence and, although Filipovic's contract at Belgian
club SK Lommel will have to be bought off and his 'expensive'salary demands
met, the need was too great and the temptation too! Filipovic has now signed
a contract for 3 years but still has to obtain a work permit to play in
Holland.
