Donetsk want Vrede |

Roda JC and Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk have
agreed terms which should lead to the transfer of Regillio Vrede.
According to a report in Dutch provincial newspaper "Limburgs Dagblad"
Vrede will be travelling to the Ukraine in the course of this week to
check out the situation at the club. Shakhtar have ambitious plans for
their Champions League adventure after last season breaking the dominant
position of Dynamo Kiev in the domestic league. The addition of Nigerian
Julius Aghahowa has given them a striker to be feared and they've also
recently added two Brazilian players, defender Damian Rodrigues and
forward Brandao who came from, respectively, Nacional Montevideo in
Uruguay and Brazilian side São Caetano. Since January they're being
coached by Italian trainer Nevio Scala, who previously looked after Parma,
Perugia, Borussia Dortmund and Besiktas. Vrede
remains under contract with Roda till 2003 but had been close to signing
for Greek side AEK Athene. The move fell through when the AEK signed
Costa Rican player Mauricio Wright.
