Heerenveen have signed yet another
Swedish player, this time it's Abgar Barsom who becomes the 4th Swede at the
Abe Lenstra stadium, the others being Erik Edman, Petter Hansson and Stefan
Selakovic. The 24 year-old left-footer was being targeted by the
Frieslanders for some time and joins them from Djurgarden IF. The forward,
who's equally at home on the wing as behind the strikers, will tomorrow sign
a deal for two years, once he's passed the obligatory medical that is. Before
joining Djurgarden in 2000, Barsom played for BK Forward. His contract at
Djurgarden runs out in November but the two clubs have already agreed on a
payoff for the rest of his current deal. Heerenveen are saying nothing
regarding the fee they've paid for their new acquisition who arrives just in
time to be eligible for UEFA Cup football.
