Pim Verbeek new PSV2 trainer

19 Jun 2002

Guus Hiddink looks increasingly likely to take over at PSV now that it's been announced that his current assistant in South Korea, Pim Verbeek, will be PSV's new reserve team trainer. At the end of the 1980s Verbeek was regarded as the man to watch by the Dutch trainers association. He gained promotion to the Ere Divisie with De Graafschap and, at 33 years of age, was Feyenoord's youngest ever coach. His time at the Kuip was not a happy one and he moved on to coach Groningen, Fortuna Sittard and Omiya Ardija before Hiddink asked him to join him in Korea two years ago. The duo are more or less an inseperable pair and PSV's technical manager, Frank Arnesen, has announced that the club expect an answer from Hiddink in the course of this week.
