Cedric van der Gun, Pius Ikedia and Tim de Cler
are staying at home while Ajax travel to England and Scotland for a
mini-tour this week as Ronald Koeman tries to decide who will be dropped
from the over-populated squad of 26 players at the ArenA. ''I've seen
everyone at work now and need to trim back the squad to a more realistic
22 players", said Koeman after the latest friendly against Emmen
(Ajax won 8-0). "We'll soon see during the next few weeks if my
decision has been the right one!" Ajax will play Celtic in Glasgow on
Wednesday and Norwich City this coming Saturday before returning to
prepare for the Amsterdam Tournament which takes place during the first
weekend of August.
