Feyenoord hire Elmander to Djurgårdens IF

Feyenoord are hiring out Johan Elmander to Djurgårdens
IF for the rest of the season. The 21 year-old forward joined the
Rotterdammers from Örgryte IS in December 2000, playing 39 matches but only
scoring 3 goals since his arrival. He's clearly failed to live up the
expectations raised when he went to the Kuip and the move to Scandinavia
comes as somewhat of a relief for him. Talking on the club's website he
says, "This is the best solution for me as there is little chance of me
seeing any Ere Divisie action this season, with Van Hooijdonk and Kalou to
compete against, and being a clear 3rd choice for the striker's role. I hope
to get more of a chance in Stockholm to play and develop as a player."
