Ajax midfielder Jan van Halst, who was recently informed by trainer Ronald Koeman that he was no longer needed, has attracted the attention of Belgian club AA Gent. Gent's Dutch trainer, Jan Olde Riekerink, previously worked for Ajax as youth trainer before making the switch to AA Gent and has stated that he would more than welcome the out-of-favour midfielder and hope's he can lure Van Halst to the club during the mid-winter transfer window.
