to hire/sign Henk Timmer?

Ajax are looking to solve their current keeper
problem by hiring/buying AZ's reserve goalie 31 year-old Henk Timmer for
this season. Although the Amsterdammers are loathe to buy another player at
this stage, when they already have 3 keepers in the 1st team squad, their
need to have an immediate backup for 19 year-old Maarten Stekelenburg could
force them to make a decision today after Fred Grim
declined a request to return temporarily. AZ have already agreed to let
Timmer go and it only remains for the clubs to agree the financial aspect of
the transfer: a straight buy, an exchange for another player or a loan-deal.
Cedric van der Gun has been named as a possible player who could move to
Alkmaar but is said to be unwilling to join AZ. Timmer
himself was reserve goalie at Feyenoord last season and the Rotterdammers
wanted to use their option to buy him but couldn't reach agreement with AZ
on a move.
