turns down Ajax request to return |

Fred Grim has
decided not to return as temporary keeper at Ajax after being asked by the
club to help out now that Bogdan Lobont and Joey Didulica are both
injured, leaving Maarten Stekelenburg as the only fit keeper with junior
goalie Robert Zwinkels acting as back-up. "The club asked me to train
and get fit enough to return for temporary duty but I've declined their
request due to the emotional aftermath of my departure from the team at the
end of last season. I don't want to have to go through that whole process
again when the other guys return!" Grim, who celebrates his 37th
birthday on August 17th, became the Amsterdammers' keepers-trainer since
hanging up his boots.
