Ivan van Dinteren put the visitors into the lead in the 24th minute with
the one and only first half goal.
After Leo Kantelenburg had increased Helmond's lead to two goals it looked
as if the match was over but fortunately for the home crowd Volendam still
had some fireworks left in them. With Volendam's trainer in the stands after
seeing red for commentating to the referee and with only twelve minutes left
Reginald Faria reduced the gap to one goal with a fine shot. With Helmond
Sports's trainer in the stands after seeing red for trying to sock the
referee, Volendam's Jermaine Holwijn scooped in an injury time equalizer.
