Heerenveen, who had lost their last
three away games, smashed Willem II in Tilburg this evening with
a dazzling performance.
Foppes flying fresians went into the break with a 0-3 lead after John De
Jong bagged a brace and Stefan Selakovic hit the net. In the second
act Mika Nurmela increased Heerenveen's lead to four goals and Selakovic
neeted number 5 to complete his brace. Tarik Sektioui pinched a consolation
for the home side in the 65th minute.
PSV striker John de Jong, on loan to
Heerenveen this season, was the man-of-the-match. De Jong'sd the
score in the 12th minute, heading in Selakovic right-wing cross into
the bottom right corner. and 5 minutes De Jong was once again on
target after , rounding off another Selakovic assist. In the 32nd minute of
the game Selakovic was himself on target as he rounded De Vlieger and passed
the ball into an empty net. In the 53rd minute Mika Nurmela was alert when
poncing on the rebound after Daniel Jensen's shot had hit the post. Selakovic
completed his brace in the 62nd minute heading in from close range. 3
minutes later Tarik Sektioui neatly netted for the homeside.
