Feyenoord keep in touch with Ajax for
second place with a hard-fought 1-2 victory over Dutch FA Cup finalist
Utrecht, whom Feyenoord meet in this season's Cup Final.
Feyenoord took an early lead this afternoon after Robin van Persie rounded
off a Brett Emerton cross in the third minute but within 10 minutes Utrecht
equalised with a fine hit from Gluscevic. In the 23rd minute of the match
Feyenoord were reduced to 10 men after Persie was sent for an early shower
for violent conduct.
In the 71st minute of the second act Belgian striker Thomas Buffel put the
final 1-2 score-line on the board after heading in a Brett Emerton corner
for his 17th goal of the season.
