RKC managed to keep their European dreams alive
after a lucky 3-1 win over Willem II after the homeside bagged two goals in
the final minutes of the match. Ex-PSV defender Yuri Nikiforovd the
score for RKC in the 5th minute of the match with his first goal of the
season after heading home from a Robert Fuchs free-kick. In the 73rd
minute Tarik Sektioui pulled one back for Willem II after soloing through
RKC's entire defence before neatly rounding off. After the goal the game
looked to be heading towards a 1-1 stalemate but in the dying seconds Eddy
Putter put the home side ahead, nodding in a Jason Oost corner and shortly
afterwards Rick Hoogendorp was also on target to give the home side a
flattered 3-1 win.
