For the second week in a row NAC have frustrated one of the
'Top 3' with a 2-2 home draw against PSV after doing exactly the same
against Ajax in the ArenA last Sunday. They
actually deserved the points but were eventually denied them by a 90th minute Dennis Rommedahl
goal. PSV were a team off-form and out-of-sorts, deflated after their
disappointing C-L defeat by Borussia Dortmund. In theng half an
hour neither side looked likely to score, apart from one golden opportunity
which Dennis Rommedhal managed to miss. NAC continued to be the better team and, after
half an hour in which neither side looked likely to score, went ahead in the 31st
with the first of Orlando Engelaar's goals, the tall forward profitting from
an amateurish error by Waterreus and Ooijer. NAC were encouraged but didn't
managed to convert it into goals and after the break Rommedahl set up Mateja Kezman
for the equalizer in the 57th. Engelaar put the 2-1 on the board
in the 76th, easily slipping by Ooijer to pass Waterreus before Rommedahl equalized for PSV to give them a point in the
90th. |
