PSV were crowned Dutch League Champions this
afternoon after drawing 0-0 in and against Groningen. Both team's needed a
draw to achieve their ambitions, Groningen for Eredivisie survival and PSV
to lift the Eredivisie title and so the 0-0 stalemate was a rather
predictable ending to this afternoon's match. After having counted 21 PSV
passes without crossing the half-way line, it was clear that the treaty of
Groningen had already been signed before the kick-off this afternoon.
However in spite of this afternoon's deal, it must be said that PSV deserved
this year's title and hopefully with Guus Hiddink's influence they can do
somewhat better in the Champions League than what we have seen from the
Eindhovenaren over the past years.
