This was an important relegation scrap for the
two teams with Groningen still looking to get a win, their 2nd point of the
season or at least a performance for new trainer Ron Jans to feel encouraged
about. It fulfilled all expectations for the home team with 2nd half
goals by Glen Salmon (64th), Rolf Landerl (77th), and Martin Drent (80th)
that clinched the points, Rody Turpijn scoring the visitors' consolation
goal in the 87th. The Doetinchemmers drop to last place on 4 points
while the Oosterpark side are now 17th on 5 points.
