However Forest's financial director John Pelling told the club's official website: "Transfer fees are a private agreement between two clubs involved in the deal and no player is ever entitled to a portion of a transfer fee - unless the clubs and player formalise an agreement in writing at the time of the transfer This was not the case with the transfer of van Hooijdonk to Vitesse That he should also claim a loyalty bonus at the end of a season in which he had gone on strike and made himself unavailable for first-team matches or training beggars belief, and the club intends to vigorously defend this and all claims by van Hooijdonk. It doesn't matter what Feyenoord suggest, I won't listen. In return, I will tell them that I will not accept being overpriced in the transfer market. In an interview in the English daily newspaper 'The Sun'Emerton said: "I've made no secret of my desire to play in the Premiership. I've heard nothing concrete but, if the stories about Arsenal being interested are true, I'd like nothing more. It's flattering to be linked with a massive club like them. I watch Arsenal a lot on TV and you have to admire the way Arsene Wenger has got them playing."
Emerton also stated that his main priority was to move to a club that could guarantee him a first team place.
"I've heard this type of thing before and nothing has happened, so I won't be getting too carried away. Newcastle have also been mentioned but the bottom line is I'm desperate to play in England. It has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I see how well players like Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka have done with Leeds and I think 'Why can't I do the same'? The Premiership suits my game. It's pacy, physical and it's all about attacking football. I only want to go to a club who will play me in my natural position as a midfielder. That's where I believe I perform best. I'm also after regular first-team football though, at a club like Arsenal, that's obviously not something that can be guaranteed."

Kostantinidis: "As I understand it the asking price of Feyenoord is still too high and I'm not sure Newcastle are prepared to pay it.
I have not yet become involved in any talks with Newcastle so it's fair to say that any deal is looking some way off. There is certainly no agreement between the two clubs yet, as I understand things. There's only 12 months of the player's contract to go and I don't think any club would be prepared to pay the kind of money that Feyenoord are asking.
It was €11.2 million Euros last year and now, as I understand it, the asking price is around €7 million Euros."

We lost 4-1 to Utrecht in the Amstel Cup final. Again, alas, I have been proved right - Feyenoord need an injection of quality. The difference between winning and losing was too big to put the blame on a referee. This probably was the easiest game of the season. Play one good match and you end a bad season with a cup. But instead of doing that I now have the biggest humiliation of my career at Feyenoord."

That's why as far as I'm concerned the door is now closed.

Van Persie "After deliberating with the coach, this seems the smartest thing to do,
I could have played against PSV when I went into appeal, but the risk would be too high and I could get a higher suspension by appealing, certainly with the Van Hooijdonk case in mind, then I would risk playing the Cup final on 1 June."
Japanese wizard Shinji Ono will also miss the game after having just recovered from a fever. Ono has been plagued with the health problems all season, the result of an overfull  program. Feyenoord coach Van Marwijk
: "His health has been ruined in the past two years by the overloaded international schedule. He did not have any time to rest. It is time that FIFA and UEFA adjusted their playing schedules together to avoid this," said Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk.

First choice, Dutch international Ronald Waterreus is out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery and with second and third-choices on loan elsewhere, PSV  youngster Yves Lenaerts will have to face the lions.

The Dutch FA (KNVB) has inventoried the injuries of young players at 36 professional clubs. During the preparations for young Holland's friendly match against South Korea, Inklaar is faced with nine under 21 youth players with serious, long-term injuries including three very serious knee injuries. 19 yeay old Johny Heitinga (Ajax) and 21 year old  Ruud Knol (Vitesse, 21) have already been recuperating for nearly a year with knee injuries and it is also expected that the knee injury from 19 year old Vitesse players Nicky Hofs will probably also take a year to heal. With Louis Laros and Mamadou Zongo, Vitesse are also faced with two over 21 players with long-temr knee injuries   Inktar is very concerned with the increasing number of 13 and 14 year old players suffering from long term injuries and has blamed a lack of funds at schools and cutbacks in physiotherapy costs at clubs  as the foremost reasons for the increase in injuries. Due to a decrease in physical exercise lessons at school youth players are lacking condition.  Experienced older players are being disposed of and are more often than not replaced with cheaper, younger players, who are not quite up to the weekly battles. The Dutch FA also believes that new designs in football-boots and training shoes could also explain the high rise in the number of injuries over the fast past few years. Vitesse technical director Jan Streuer said: "I used to be football-boot retailer and I know how exactly how that works. Every year a new boot is designed but if that means a better design remains to be seen. I still think that the old six stud Adidas boots are the best."
